Project Overview

Built within a countryside-classified plot, the project had to meet strict local authority design and specification criteria, all of which pointed towards traditional styling and premium materials.

The resulting five-bedroom residence, situated on an acre of land, exudes quality throughout. With three en-suite bathrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and handpicked finishes throughout every room, the house has been designed with elegance and longevity in mind.

A particular focal point is the expansive 50ft kitchen, designed as the social heart of the home. This space benefits from two sets of timber Bi-fold doors, one spanning an impressive 4.5 metres, allowing the indoors and outdoors to blend seamlessly.

Energy efficiency was a core priority for Mr Pollikett, who was committed from the outset to using timber sash windows for their insulation, sustainability, and authentic appearance. After reviewing several suppliers, Mr Pollikett was introduced to Mumford & Wood through his local Elliotts branch, a partnership that would define the tone of the build.

The home features nearly 30 made-to-measure timber Sash windows, many fitted with acoustic glazing to further enhance internal comfort and tranquillity. The windows, finished in Signal White with 27mm astragal bar detailing, contribute to the property achieving a polished, timeless aesthetic.

Now listed at £1.9 million, the home has already received industry recognition, winning the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Award. Mr Pollikett, who is now advancing to the regional finals, is already looking ahead to future builds and says he wouldn’t hesitate to choose Mumford & Wood again.

Sash Windows

Installed throughout the home, timber Sash windows with a single vertical glazing bar were selected to complement the architectural style. Finished in Signal White, they offer clean sightlines and refined character while enhancing thermal and acoustic performance.

Bi-Fold Doors

To maximise natural light and frame views of the garden, a striking five-panel Bi-fold door set was installed, spanning more than 4.5 metres in width. These premium timber doors ensure flexibility and flow across key living areas.

Entrance Door

The grand oversized front Entrance door, complete with sidelights and toplights, offers a bold and contemporary first impression. Finished in Light Grey, it perfectly balances traditional scale with modern elegance, adding undeniable kerb appeal.
