West Sussex Home Given A Striking New Look
Nestled in the peaceful, semi-rural surroundings of West Sussex, this spacious five-bedroom family home, originally built in 1989, has been lovingly maintained and improved over three decades by the Maguire family.

We are delighted with our windows and doors from Mumford & Wood—they’ve made a significant upgrade to our property.

Project Overview
As long-term homeowners, the Maguires had previously extended the rear of the property and remained committed to preserving and enhancing their forever home. “We reached a point where the windows clearly needed attention,” Mr Maguire explains. “While we could have replaced just the cills, we felt a full upgrade was the right decision to futureproof the property and complete everything in one go.”
This decision opened the door to exploring a wide range of suppliers and timber window styles. After researching options at several merchants, the Maguires were drawn to the Mumford & Wood collection on display at the Covers branch in Chichester.
A chance encounter also played a role in their decision. While walking through the neighbourhood, Mrs Maguire noticed a nearby home being fitted with Mumford & Wood windows by respected local developers King & Drury. Impressed by the installation, the Maguires reached out and soon partnered with King & Drury for their own project.
“Mumford & Wood’s representative joined King & Drury on-site during the planning and measuring stages,” Mr Maguire recalls. “We were given great advice on the finer details that really make a difference.”
The end result is a beautifully refreshed property that honours the original architecture while bringing a refined, contemporary touch. “The project was expertly managed with minimal fuss,” adds Mr Maguire. “Any issues were resolved quickly and professionally. The money we’ve invested in new timber windows has absolutely paid off in terms of quality and finish.”
Flush Casement Windows
In keeping with the home’s original aesthetic, the Maguires selected Flush Casement windows finished in ‘Pure White’. A combination of styles was used across the property, including designs with horizontal glazing bars and traditional leaded light detailing, creating a faithful yet elevated update.
Bi-Fold Doors
As part of a kitchen redesign, a dated French door set was replaced with elegant timber Bi-fold doors. This new 3-panel system dramatically improves access to the outdoor patio while increasing flexibility for everyday living and entertaining.
French Doors
In the family’s main living space, a new pair of French doors with full-height sidelights was installed, continuing the crisp ‘Pure White’ finish. The doors allow natural light to flood in while tying together the interior with the redesigned exterior joinery.
The transformation is both practical and beautiful, proof that timeless craftsmanship and thoughtful design can make all the difference in how a home feels and functions.
