When Steve Grant and Mike Keeble met in Sri Lanka during a volunteer rebuild effort following the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, neither could have imagined that a decade later, they would be co-founders of a thriving property development business on the South Coast of England.

Project Overview
Today, their company, Wittering Properties, specialises in the creation of high-end, coastal-inspired homes in the sought-after village of Wittering, West Sussex. Each development is bespoke, with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
“As we only build a select number of homes each year, every detail must meet the highest standard,” explains Steve. “That applies to everything, especially the windows and doors.”
Wittering Properties now works closely with Mumford & Wood, specifying their timber windows and doors across multiple projects. The partnership began after Steve visited another developer in the area who had recently completed a project using Mumford & Wood products.
“I was immediately impressed, not just by the quality of the windows and doors, but also by the proactive, knowledgeable service,” says Steve. “We’re passionate about quality and expect the same from our suppliers. Mumford & Wood share that ethos.”
Before partnering with Mumford & Wood, Steve often relied on local joiners to manufacture bespoke timber windows and doors. However, this approach required additional on-site finishing and painting, which is particularly problematic in harsh coastal conditions.
“With Mumford & Wood, the windows and doors arrive fully finished, sealed, and ready to install. That level of preparation makes a huge difference on site, especially when working against sea air and tight timelines.”
The team has installed entrance doors, flush casement windows, door sets, and bi-folds from Mumford & Wood on several coastal homes to date, with exceptional results.

At the front of the property, a statement Entrance door in the Tintagel style provides a sophisticated welcome. Finished in ‘Cement Grey’, it pairs perfectly with the rendered exterior and completes the contemporary yet classic coastal aesthetic.
