Project Overview
Developed by local specialists Cotswold Build Ltd, the property is surrounded by rolling countryside and classic Cotswold stone homes, making it essential that the materials chosen were both authentic and timeless.
For this project, developer Paul Gavin chose Mumford & Wood timber windows and doors, marking the first time the firm had specified the range. “We’ve known of Mumford & Wood for a while and were keen to use their products. On a previous refurbishment, the client chose aluminium, but we were really pleased to be able to incorporate Mumford & Wood for this new build,” says Paul.
The home reflects the team’s commitment to craftsmanship, with a classic Laura Ashley kitchen, AGA cooker, and now, bespoke timber windows and doors to match. “The windows and doors arrived fully factory-finished, which was a huge plus. The quality is excellent, and having everything delivered palletised made handling and installation much easier for our team.”
Paul adds, “If we’d gone to another supplier, we’d have had to paint, glaze, and install the windows ourselves. Choosing Mumford & Wood saved time and gave us a far superior result.”
Flush Casement Windows
In keeping with the home’s traditional Cotswold stone exterior, Paul specified Flush Casement windows in a finish inspired by Farrow & Ball’s ‘Lichen’, a shade known for pairing beautifully with natural stone. The understated elegance of the flush frame design enhances the home’s timeless aesthetic while delivering modern thermal performance.
French Doors
At the rear of the property, a handcrafted orangery opens out to a spacious private garden. To maintain consistency, timber French doors in the same heritage colour as the windows were installed, offering effortless indoor-outdoor flow and reinforcing the property’s refined, character-led design.
