The Mumford & Wood products gave us the modern look we wanted with the traditional aspect that comes with timber. We felt that this would be perfect for our plans for the barns.

Project Overview

"We had previously chosen the Mumford & Wood range for a development of two houses in Bishops Stortford and were delighted with the results," explains Adam Spiers, Project Manager at The Foxley Group, the property development firm behind the transformation of two derelict barns near Hatfield Heath.

Unoccupied for several years, the barns had fallen into disrepair. The goal was to sensitively redevelop and restore both into beautiful, character-filled homes ready for sale.

"Everything arrives on site ready to install, which is great. Even the trickle vents are already fitted. This makes everything on our end so much easier and speeds up the whole process," says Adam.

The development was completed in late 2018, and both properties were quickly sold and snapped up by eager buyers shortly after coming to market.

"We were very happy to use Mumford & Wood again. The products look great and are of a very high quality."

Flush Casement Windows

To complement the newly applied timber cladding on both barns, a selection of Flush Casement windows from Mumford & Wood was specified. Finished in 'Slate Grey' on one barn and 'Jet Black' on the other, the windows were carefully chosen to suit the unique character and finish of each property.

Entrance Doors

To maintain the authentic barn aesthetic, traditional-style Entrance doors finished in a 'Light Oak' stain were selected. These were completed with Nitro handles in 316 Coastal Grade Stainless Steel, adding a refined and durable finishing touch.
