Award-Winning Development Selects Timber Range for Signature Appeal
Set within the picturesque village of Challock in Ashford, Kent, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Clock House Green is a collection of six beautifully designed homes that blend traditional charm with contemporary standards.

Our team does a lot of joinery work, but when it came to the windows and doors, we wanted something bespoke that combined performance with the aesthetic we were looking for, and Mumford & Wood helped us achieve exactly that.

Project Overview
The development, led by David Cox of Cox Developments, was recognised as Best Small UK Development at the prestigious Evening Standard New Homes Awards in 2017.
Cox Developments is a family-run firm known for the sensitive restoration and construction of period-style properties. The site for this project was a former orchard on Clock House Farm, which had been in David's family for generations. The vision was to create a development that honoured the site's natural and architectural heritage.
To reflect the character of the surrounding area, the homes feature locally handmade tile-hung façades, exposed Flemish bond brickwork, white weatherboarding, and bespoke timber windows and doors by Mumford & Wood.
"Although this was a new development, it was vitally important to create something sensitive to the history and style of the local area. We wanted it to feel like it belonged here, not imposed upon it."
Having previously worked with Mumford & Wood on an earlier project, David returned to the team for Clock House Green, drawn by their expert craftsmanship, tailored service, and product performance.
"Matt and Dan from Mumford & Wood were fantastic, they visited the site several times and helped us make the right decisions around styles and finishes. The results speak for themselves."
Flush Casement Windows
Each home within the development is fitted with timber Flush Casement windows, selected not only for their elegant proportions and robust performance but also for their ability to sit comfortably within the design language of the Kentish vernacular. The window finishes vary across the properties, giving each home a distinct identity while maintaining a cohesive development aesthetic.
Entrance Doors
Striking Hadleigh-style front doors were selected to complement the homes' architectural detailing. As with the windows, the doors were finished in a curated palette of colours, adding charm and individuality to each façade.
