Timber windows are highly sustainable, naturally insulating, and built to last. However, poor-quality timber products can negatively impact the aesthetic and long-term performance of your home. That’s why, at Mumford & Wood, we’re committed to delivering high-performance, beautifully crafted timber windows that enhance the value of your investment.

Why Timing Matters

When ordering bespoke timber windows, lead times are an essential consideration. Lead time refers to the time between placing your order and receiving your completed windows, ready for installation. If you’re mid-way through a build or on a tight schedule, it’s crucial that this timeline aligns with your project.

Our Process at Mumford & Wood

1. Consultation

We begin by discussing your project in detail, including your design preferences, budget, and timeline. Using your measurements or architectural drawings, our team prepares an initial quote. We tailor every window solution to your home’s needs.

2. Site Visit

We don’t limit our service to emails and calls. Where possible, our team will visit your site in person to provide a more hands-on, consultative experience. With extensive experience in self-builds, new developments, and renovations, we provide expert guidance throughout the entire process.

3. Design Approval

With full control over the design, you choose everything from style and configuration to colour and hardware. Whether your project is classic or contemporary, Mumford & Wood timber windows are designed to complement your vision.

4. Craftsmanship

Your windows are made to order in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, where traditional joinery meets cutting-edge precision. We apply a multi-layer protection system, featuring paint or stain finishes and pre-installed glazing, to ensure durability and long-term performance.

5. Delivery

Before leaving the factory, each window undergoes a thorough quality inspection. Our delivery vehicles are equipped with forklifts to unload your windows safely and efficiently on-site.

Average Lead Time

Custom-made timber windows typically have an average lead time of 10 weeks from the time of order. As we optimise production, we anticipate this reduction to 8–9 weeks in the coming months.

To avoid delays, we recommend placing your order as early as possible, especially if your build has tight deadlines or phased completion dates.

Mumford & Wood

At Mumford & Wood, we take pride in crafting timber windows and doors that blend performance, style, and sustainability. Every component is carefully sourced and assembled for maximum longevity, energy efficiency, and visual appeal.
